THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TASK-BASED ON STUDENT WRITING SKILL AT THE SECOND GRADE OF MTS IHYAUL ULUM MANYAR LAMONGAN

The target of this research is to discover the observational proof of acing
students' paragraph writing through task-based learning teaching in English
learning process. While the motivation behind this research is giving an method to
teach paragraph writing by the task-based learning teaching to the second grade of
MTs Ihyaul Ulum Manyar Lamongan, powerful and productive in improving
students' paragraph writing. Task-based learning teaching are is an alternative
approach to communicate language teaching because a task involves a primary
focus a meaning. This approach is specifically to improve writing skills, especially
in writing paragraphs.
The researcher utilizes quantitative method, for the experiment, picks
thesecond grade of MTs Ihyaul Ulum Manyar Sekaran. The instruments used to
collect the data were: test and tryout. Test was utilized to know students' ability
before and after the experiment run. There are two sorts of test: they are pretest and
posttest. Before items of the test were given to the students, the researcher gave
tryout test to analyze validity, reliability, difficulty level and the discriminating
power of each item.
After the data had been collected by using test, the data then analyzed by
using paired sample t-test in SPSS 23 that the pretest mean was 1.68 and the posttest
mean was 68.88. The obtained t-test was -10.882, whereas the t-table was 2.119 for
a = 5%. The t-test score was higher than the t-table (-10.882> 2.119). it meant that
Ha was accepted while Ho was rejected. Since t-test score was higher than the ttable, it can be included that memory strategies were effective on students’
paragraph writing at the second grade of MTs Ihyaul Ulum Manyar Lamongan
