a study of the idea of moderate Islamic education which is based on the
thoughts of Mufassir Nusantara, as it is deemed necessary to do. Maybe it can
answer the problem of theological understanding which often fuels
radicalization, intolerance, and acts of terrorism in Indonesia. In this study,
researchers will examine Mufassir Nusantara's thoughts regarding moderate
Islamic education, to then have implications for the development of Islamic
education in Indonesian society. This study has two problem formulations,
namely: (1) How is the Concept of Moderate Islamic Education from the
Perspective of K.H. Bisri Mustafa and Buya Hamka, and (2) What is the
comparison of Moderate Islamic Education from the Perspective of K.H. Bisri
Mustafa and Buya Hamka. Then this study aims to describe: (1) Describe the
concept of moderate Islamic education from the perspective of Mufassir
Nusantara, and (2) Describe the similarities and differences of moderate Islamic
education according to Mufassir Nusantara's thinking.
This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of literature review
(library research). data collection used the documentation method, while the
data analysis technique was done by content analysis and historical analysis.
there are six stages in the content analysis method, namely: unitizing, sampling,
recording, reducing, abductively inferring, narrating. then proceed with the
validity of the test related to the validity of the data under review. In addition,
the author also sees in coordinating the concept of moderate Islamic education
in Mufassir Nusantara.
The results of the research show that the concept put forward by KH. Bisri
Mushtofa and Buya Hamka in their interpretation of moderate verses include:
the right to freedom in everything even in belief, rationalism in truth (Q.S AlBaqarah verse 256), piety, high social spirit regardless of race, ethnicity or
religion , polite to neighbors even though non-Muslims (Q.S Al-Mumtahanah
verse 8), get to know each other, interact and help each other, cooperate with
anyone in advancing civilization (Al-Hujurot verse 13), have a moderate spirit,
prohibit extremism (An-Nisa' verse 171 ), not insulting, cursing and criticizing
each other (Q.S Al-An'am verse 108). As for the difference, there is no
significant difference.
