The study of the idea of moderate Islamic education which is based on
the thoughts of KH. Bisri Musthofa, as he felt it really needed to be done.
Maybe it can answer the problem of theological understanding which often
fuels radicalization, intolerance, and acts of terrorism in Indonesia. In this
study, researchers will examine the thoughts of KH. Bisri Musthofa regarding
moderate Islamic education, to then have implications for the development of
Islamic education in Indonesian society. This study has two problem
formulations, namely: (1) How is the concept of moderate Islamic education
from the perspective of KH. Bisri Musthofa, and (2) What are the
implications of moderate Islamic education according to KH. Bisri Musthofa
for the development of Islamic education in Indonesian society. Then this
study aims to describe: (1) Describe the concept of moderate Islamic
education from the perspective of KH. Bisri Musthofa, and (2) Describe the
implications of moderate Islamic education according to KH. Bisri Musthofa
for the development of Islamic education in Indonesian society.
This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of literature review
(library research). data collection uses the documentation method, while the
data analysis technique is carried out by content analysis and historical
analysis. there are six stages in the content analysis method, namely:
unitizing, sampling, recording, reducing, abductively inferring, narrating. then
proceed with the validity of the test related to the validity of the data under
review. In addition, the author also sees in coordinating the concept of
moderate Islamic education KH. Bisri Musthofa.
The results showed that the concept of moderate Islamic education
according to KH. Bisri Musthofa are: First, the concept of integration.
Second, balance. Third, freedom and equality. Fourth, benefit and priority. As
for the implementation of the concept of moderate Islamic education initiated
by KH. Bisri Musthofa includes several values. Among them namely; First,
Integration: independence, responsibility, and qana'ah. Second, balance: love
for the motherland, love for peace, and respect for others. Third, Freedom and
equality: honest, fair, and optimistic. Fourth, Benefit and virtue: civilized,
disciplined, patient, humble, and awareness.
